Kenics WVM Static Mixers

The Kenics Water Vortex Mixer (WVM) builds on HEV mixer technology with a simple wall-mounted additive injection point, a pre-distribution tab, and banks of trapezoidal mixing elements. Three model variants (A, B, and C) let the length-versus-pressure-drop tradeoff be tuned to a given project's design constraints.

  • Pre-distribution tab spreads wall-injected additive into a horseshoe shape before it reaches the mixing elements, improving measured mixture quality (CoV) by at least 10% over a multihole sparger injector across a wide range of flow rates, per the manufacturer
  • Simple wall injection point usable with just a flanged nozzle or threaded boss; an injection fitting with shutoff device can also be fitted
  • Three model variants (WVMA, WVMB, WVMC) trade off pressure loss versus the mixer length needed to reach a 0.05 (5%) CoV: WVMA gives the highest pressure loss with the shortest length, WVMC the lowest pressure loss with the longest length, WVMB in between
  • Each mixing element generates two vortices, so each bank of elements generates eight, with successive banks maintaining and intensifying the vortices along the mixer length and downstream
  • Improved mixing performance at very low flow rates (0.1-0.3 m/sec), per the manufacturer
  • Test data validated by an independent organization, per the manufacturer
